Learning is Fun!

Today Leo and Declan C presented their Culture presentations.
Leo made everyone Afghan biscuits, a New Zealand sweet treat. Some people had never tried them before and all agreed they were delicious. Thanks again Leo.
After their presentations we participated in a Kahoot the boys had made, to see what the class had learned from their presentations.
Well done boys, awesome presentations, you rock!

Genius Hour Presentations

Last week Room 1 presented Genius Hour to Rooms 2, 6, 7 and 9a. Everyone enjoyed sharing their presentations and product. We received positive feedback from the classes that visited.

Mrs Poole was so proud of Room 1 during last week's Learning Conferences where everyone presented their Genius Hour to their family/whanau. Room 1 were articulate when talking about their learning and sharing their learning reflection. It was also awesome to hear positive feedback from parents.

Auckland's Water Shortage by Daniel

Daniel wrote a letter to Room 15 (Antony's class) to tell them about Auckland's Water Shortage and how to save water.
He delivered the letter in an envelope over the Room 15 and read it to them.
Room 15 told Daniel that they will go home and tell parents/caregivers that they need to start saving water. Go Dan!

Here is his letter.

Dear Mrs Cammell and Room 15,

Last week it was raining hard and it got a bit out of hand. The water overflowed and it got really muddy.

The water people have told us to use less water. We need to save water, here are things we can do to save water.
1. no baths
2. be quick in the shower
3. use the little flush on the toilet

Thank you for listening to me.

Wow!

The artists of Room 1 have finished their masterpieces and the pieces are now displayed up in our classroom. The self portraits are inspired by the artist Romero Britto. We all agree we did a pretty good job and Room 1 is looking bright and colourful.
