11 of our classmates are either unwell or not attending school today so we are only a class of 18!

Harakeke Flowers

This week Room 1 is celebrating Maori Language week.
Today we made Harakeke (flax) Flowers. We learned about some of the tikanga around harvesting harakeke and cut two pieces each to weave from our Sunnyhills School's supply.
While we were cutting Mrs Daniels was with her Enviro group and found a weta which we all were very interested in.
Room 1's first woven piece is to be given away to someone special in their lives.

Literacy Week - Stick Puppets

Room 1 showed off their creative skills in making stick puppets and writing a short story to perform with their puppets. Learning is fun!

Learning is Fun!

Today Leo and Declan C presented their Culture presentations.
Leo made everyone Afghan biscuits, a New Zealand sweet treat. Some people had never tried them before and all agreed they were delicious. Thanks again Leo.
After their presentations we participated in a Kahoot the boys had made, to see what the class had learned from their presentations.
Well done boys, awesome presentations, you rock!
